About Us
Values and ethos
Dear Parents, Carers and Students
Our vision for Callington Community College is to be the most exciting and dynamic school in Cornwall, where both students and staff thrive.
We are dedicated to ensuring we make a difference in any way that we can. We are a school in the heart of its community and we have a genuine commitment to developing successful and lifelong learners and confident individuals committed to making positive contributions to society
We believe in delivering personalised learning in which every child is supported according to individual need. We do not put any ceilings on children's ability and set challenging aspirational targets and goals. We provide a broad and balanced curriculum which allows students to discover their hidden talents and develop their leadership potential.
We are committed to improving continuously in every aspect of what we do. Investment in continuous professional development is a priority with significant focus on developing world class teaching strategies and leadership potential so that it impacts credibly on staff and students.
We believe in looking outside our environment for new and better methods of supporting students to make progress, to other schools, universities, to academic research and to the commercial environment for new ideas and inspiration.
Importantly we provide a safe and happy learning environment, where our students, staff and parents are valued equally. High quality relationships are at the heart of everything we do. Our greatest desire is to develop our young people into happy, confident, curious and resilient learners. Our commitment to dynamic interaction between staff and students is central to all aspects of our work. We are excited about what the future holds for the young people and the community we serve.
Our doors are always open. The best way to experience Callington Community College is to come and visit us. If you would like to come and see our fabulous College, please do get in touch - I look forwards to sharing the College with you.
