The Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) issues a Warning to Candidates and a Notice to Candidates taking exams with AQA, City & Guilds, CCEA, Edexcel, OCR and WJEC.

Some of the rules are simple common sense, for example:

  • being on time for exams
  • not talking to other candidates
  • not cheating in any way

Make sure you know exactly what you may or may not take with you into the exam room.

Other information in the notice is less obvious.

For example, did you know:

  • if you arrive more than one hour after the published starting time for the examination, you may not be allowed to take it
  • you must write in black ink, using colours only for diagrams, charts, maps etc
  • you must not leave the examination room until the invigilator tells you to

The Warning To Candidates and the full Notice To Candidates are available on the below link and can also be downloaded below.  Read them carefully so that you are aware of the rules, and you can go into your examinations confident that you know how to behave.
