Careers Information Evening

For Parents, Carers and Students in Year 9, 10 and 12.
Tuesday 11 June, 6.00 pm.

On 11 June the College will hold a careers-focused open evening for parents, carers and students in Year 9, 10 and 12 in the Main Hall. The evening will be a chance for parents, carers and students to find out a little more about how careers is taught in the College  and the support that is available to students to help them make the right work experience and career choices.

The evening will be hosted by the College’s Careers Lead Teacher, Mr Plunkett and he will be introducing guest presenters from a range of different fields. Software Cornwall will discuss how Cornwall is rapidly becoming a leading area for technology in the UK and will explain about entry requirements at post 16, 18 and degree. Cornwall College will be represented and will talk about the Level 2 and 3 courses that they provide across their campuses and the links that they have with apprenticeship providers in the area. A representative from Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Enterprise Hub will also be present to explain about the ever changing labour market in the South West and beyond and how young people can prepare themselves for different route ways.

Mr Plunkett will explain and demonstrate some of the technical support that we have on offer in the College and along with our guests will be happy to take questions or discuss options and pathways. The evening will be finished by 7.15 - 7.30 pm.

If you and your child are attending, please e-mail Mr Plunkett on jplunkett@callingtoncc.net so we can cater for everyone’s needs.
