Emily brought in her geodes for us to break open and she and Poppy explained to the girls how the crystals are formed.  We are also growing crystals using alum and cotton thread. 

It was a very noisy session, using hammers to break open the rocks, but great fun and 25 girls went home with the crystals they had found.
